Pastor’s Easter Message – 2019
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
When we go to Easter Sunday worship service, we’re going to hear a very familiar chant like this: Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! This chant is not only our Christian battle cry, but also reminds us that Christ’s resurrection is an ever-present happening now in our time. The importance of Easter is that Jesus Christ gave us new life and a second chance so that we can rededicate ourselves to continue giving hope, new life, freedom, and justice to all God’s children.
Easter faith reminds Christians that no matter how difficult life may be and as hopeless as things may look, there is hope in God through Jesus Christ. Because of this, it is our commitment to share this transformative news to which each of us has been called to participate. Therefore, I ask you to invite your family and friends for worship to New Covenant. If possible, help us financially to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ.
Here at New Covenant, we testify that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of the Living God. He is our Creator, Savior, and Redeemer. Because Easter is present and continues to live through members of New Covenant UMC, we minister to all God’s children. Besides Bible studies and Sunday school, we provide community breakfast every Sunday morning beginning at 9:00 AM before worship. We offer Clothing Closet to our neighbors who are in need of clothes. We also offer “choice style” community Food pantry for families from the Trenton and Hamilton areas. Most importantly, we welcome all whether they are residents or non-residents of our community.
As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord this year, I’m thinking of all of you here in our community and round the world. My fervent prayers go to all men and women in the military, to all refugees and prisoners, to all homeless brothers and sisters, to all in poor health, to all grieving families, and to all unemployed men and women. I pray that Christ may bestow his peace, presence, love, and grace upon you and your loved ones.
Remember, Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
